BERLIN, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- German record champions Bayern Munich edged Augsburg 2-0 while defending champions Dortmund suffered a 3-2 loss against Wolfsburg at the 16th round of Bundesliga on Saturday.
Bundesliga front-runners Bayern Munich extended their unbeaten run to 11 games following a hard earned 2-0 win over Augsburg.
Courageous1 Augsburg almost secured a bright start as Sascha Moelders nearly opened the scoring from promising2 position.

Defending champions Borussia Dortmund suffered a setback8 at the title race when they lost 3-2 to the "Wolves", leaving them 14 points adrift Bayern Munich.
The "BVB" caught a bright start on home soil as Marco Reus's free kick cross from the left wing ended up untouched in Wolfsburg goal with six minutes into the match.
Things changed at the 35th minute when Marcel Schmelzer was sent off with a straight red card due to a supposed handball, when he blocked a shot onto the open goal.
Wolfsburg's Diego converted the penalty successfully to make it 1-1 on the scoreboards at the 36th minute.
The "Wolves" went one better five minutes later when Naldo volleyed home and Diego assisted into top right corner to shock Dortmund with a comeback.
Also Dortmund snatched a penalty at the 61st minute, Simon Kjaer had brought down Lewandowski inside the box to ensure a penalty for the hosts.
Jakub Blaszczykowski converted the penalty from the spot to restore the draw.
Ten men Dortmund frenetically pressed for the winner but they were caught flat-footed at the 73rd minute by Wolfsburg.
A through ball by Diego found Bas Dost who had all time and space to slot into bottom right with only Dortmund goalie Roman Weidenfeller to beat.
"I am proud of my team, weather it was luck or other things, the bottom line is I'm happy," said Wolfsburg caretaker Lorenz Guenther Koestner.
Stuttgart wrapped up their third consecutive10 win following their 3-1 victory over Schalke, thanks to the hat-trick by Vedad Ibisevic.
