Questions 4 to 6 are based on the following conversation.

M： Good morning, Madam. Can I help you?

W： Ah, yes. I hope so. I’ve got a bit of a problem actually. (4) I want to go to Edinburgh for the Festival and I’m not too sure of the best way to get there. I’ve got a car but it’s not in very good condition and I think it'd take me a long time to drive up there.

M： Well, if you go up the motorway¹? I suppose, about eight hours.

W： Eight hours! It is a long way and I suppose petrol prices are a bit expensive, too.

M： Well, yes. It’d probably cost you about 10 pounds and that depends on your car.

W： Yes, the car is the trouble. Tell me... now what about coach? Because I’ve been told that’s fairly² reasonable.

M： Oh, it is. It costs 14 pounds in fact from London to Edinburgh.

W： Mm, that’s not too bad. How long does it take?

M： About ten hours.

W： Ten hours! What about the train then?

M： Let me see. (5) It takes five hours in fact from London to Edinburgh，and it costs 21 pounds for single.

W： So much!

M： Yes, it’s a lot of money，but of course you can sleep at night and so on.

W： Well, can you tell me about going by plane?

M： Yes，of course. .. er…the London to Edinburgh for single.. .38 pounds, but it only takes just over an hour. It takes 70 minutes.

W： Really?

M： Yes. You’re there in no time.

W： Wonderful. That’d be a wonderful start to the holiday.

M： Mm. Shall I book you a ticket?

W： Well, (6) I really ought to think about it. Thanks so much for your help，but I think I’ll call you back if that’s OK.
