(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
If you live in New Zealand, remember to put your clock forward tomorrow morning. Officially the change to daylight saving1 time is 2.00am which becomes 3.00am but for most of us, we change our clocks before we go to bed or when we wake up. For example if you usually wake up at 8am on a Sunday morning, tomorrow you will need to put the time forward on your clock to 9am.
Daylight Saving time finishes on April 1st 2012. At that time, you move the time back one hour. Remember “Spring Forward, Fall Back”. Fall is the American word for Autumn.
There are many reasons for changing the clocks in summer. It gives people more time for sport and other outdoor activities in the evenings. On the other hand, when it’s still sunny outside, many people do not want to go to movies. Dairy2 farmers have to get up early to milk cows and the cows do not know about daylight saving time. Parents with small children find it difficult to get their children to bed when it is still daylight outside. Politicians3 believe we save electricity because we don’t use lights until later in the evening.
Idiom
When we say “move your clock forward” we mean move the hands on the clock forward.
