A UN war crime tribunal has sentenced two Bosnian Serbs to life in prison for genocide for their role in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre5. The men were army chiefs in the Bosnian Serb army which was blamed for the massacre of more than 7,000 Muslims. Four other officers and a police official were also jailed for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
And Australia has officially pulled out of the running to host the 2018 Soccer World Cup. Instead, it will concentrate now on bidding for the 2022 event. This leaves the door open for a European nation to host the game in 2018.
