A young Melbourne girl has died and two others are in hospital after a dog attack last night. The four-year-old was playing with her cousin at her St Albans home when they were attacked by a neighbour's dog. The little girl died at the scene. The dog was captured and is likely to be destroyed.

Police searching bushland for the remains¹ of Queensland schoolboy Daniel Morcombe have found a shoe they believe may belong to the missing teenager. It was discovered yesterday afternoon in the main area they'd been searching for for several days. It's now being scientifically tested.
