 A low and / cold front are creating strong winds. Showers and Alpine¹ snow over Victoria and Tasmania. There are isolated² showers over coastal³ Queensland because of the trough. A large belt of high pressure is keeping the rest of the country cool and clear.

 

Looking around the states in Queensland, a cool morning in the west, then mostly sunny. There'll isolated showers in the east and in the southern tropics.

 

Isolated showers over the southern ranges of New South Wales. Snow in the mountains. Sunny elsewhere.

 

Showers are forecast for the south and east of Victoria. There'll be snow above 1,000 meters.

 

In Tasmania, isolated thunderstorms and hail late today in the west far south and Bass⁴ Strait. There'll be isolated showers in northern and central areas, and snow in the peaks.

 

In South Australia, a mostly sunny day in the north of the state. There'll be scattered⁵ showers in the south.

 

Dry and cloudy in southern parts of WA. Isolated thunderstorms in the northern Goldfields. Sunny elsewhere.

 

In the territory, there'll isolated showers in the north. It'll be dry and cool in the south.

 

Looking ahead to tomorrow. And sunny in Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney and Darwin. Early showers in Melbourne and Hobart. Partly cloudy in Adelaide. And an evening shower in Perth.
