A trough in the east is triggering showers and thundery rain in NSW and in southeast Queensland. Another trough in the west of the country is generating the odd shower. Meanwhile, a high pressure system is keeping elsewhere mostly clear.

 

Looking around the states.

 

In Queensland, there'll be isolated¹ showers in the coast and in the far north, while the west will be hot and dry.

 

NSW can expect isolated showers and storms in the east with high temperatures in the west and north of the state.

 

There'll be isolated showers in the east and south Victoria, with dry conditions in the north of the state.

 

Tasmania should have scattered² showers in the west and south, while it will be mostly clear and dry in the east.

 

South Australia can expect isolated showers along the coast, while it will be warm and dry in the north.

 

Northern WA will have isolated showers and storms, while there'll be dry and sunny elsewhere.

 

The Northern Territory can expect isolated showers and storms in the north, while the rest of the state should be sunny.

 

Looking ahead to tomorrow. And around the capitals. Hobart, Sydney and Darwin should have an afternoon shower. It will be a cloudy day in Canberra and Adelaide. In Melbourne, there is the chance of morning rain. And it should be sunny in Perth and Brisbane.
