 Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce says his department is investigating the latest breach¹ of the system to protect live animal(口误) live exports from animal cruelty. New video footage obtained by the ABC shows Australian sheep being mistreated in the Middle East. The video was shot in Jordanearlier this month by animal activists² and provided to the Lateline Promgram.

 

There's been another fatal shooting in Sydney overnight. Police are now searching for a gunman who shot a man in the back, while he was walking to his car at a block flats in the city's west. The 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital, but later died.

 

Two Australians have been arrested in Vietnam, accused of heroin³ smuggling⁴. They were taken into custody⁵ at Ho Chi Minh airport. Eleven packs of heroin weighing three and a half kilograms were allegedly found hidden in their luggage. Now these face, these people face the death penalty if they are convicted of the crimes.

 

Chinese police have arrested five people in connection with Monday's deadly car crash in Tian‘anmen Square. Chinese officials are now describing the incident as a terrorist attack. Five people died when the car crashed through barriers in the square and burst into flames. The suspects are thought to be Uighur Muslims from the restive⁶ province of Xinjiang.
