 Let’s take a look at the satellite. A trough is directing warm area and generating¹ showers over inland Queensland and New South Wales. Cool onshore winds are bringing showers to Victoria and Tasmania. A high pressure system is keeping the west mostly dry.

 

Looking around the country, Showers and storms in far north and southern Queensland. Hot conditions throughout with moderate² winds. 

 

In New South Wales, showers and storms are spreading from north to the east. Hot in the state’s north, cool in the south. 

 

Victoria will have showers in the south and east with clear conditions in the northwest, cold in the south.

 

Isolated³ light showers in Tasmania with cold temperatures in the south and east, cool in the northwest. 

 

South Australia will be dry inland with gusty⁴, southerly winds and cool conditions in the south, isolated showers on the coast.

 

Over the Western Australia where showers and storms are expected in the Kimberley, hot in the north, mild in the south. 

 

And in the Northern Territory, warm temperatures and gusty winds in the south, hot in the north with showers and storms.

 

Looking ahead to tomorrow’s forecast for the capital cities, possible thunderstorms in Brisbane, rain in Sydney, possible showers in Melbourne and Hobart, mostly sunny in Adelaide, sunny in Perth, and late thunderstorms in Darwin.
