 Holden is refusing to comment on reports that it will stop making cars in Australia as early as 2016. Senior government ministers have told the ABC they believe the decision has in fact already been made, but the Industry Minister Ian Mcfarlane says that is not his understanding and he says talks about further government assistance are ongoing¹. 

 

The search resumes this morning for 14 asylum² seekers still at large on Christmas Island. They are among a group of 28 people who arrived undetected on Monday. The swam to shore when their boat hit rocks and sank. 

 

There has been a second shark attack on the New South Wales mid-north coast overnight. A 26-year-old man is in a stable condition after he was biten on the leg and the hand. Because the attack comes just one week after Port Mcquarie teenager was fatally attacked by a tiger shark while body boarding near Coffs Harbour. Lab Morri on our story.

 

The Pope, sorry, Indonesia's foreign minister has warned there could be more spying revelations to come. He was speaking after talks with his Australia counterpart Julia Bishop³ over a six-point plan to repair bi-lateral relations. Mr. Bishop says Australia has agreed to work through the plan.
