Chinese Ambassador Cui Tiankai has made solemn representations to the U.S. government about President Barack Obama's meeting with the Dalai Lama,

urging Washington to immediately take effective measures to correct this mistake.

Cui Tiankai stressed Tibet is an inseparable part of the Chinese territory

and the Tibet issue is a pure domestic affair of China.

He criticized the U.S. government for severely¹ interfering² in China's domestic affair,

breaking its promise not to support "Tibet independence,"

violating the basic norms governing international relations

and damaging the China-U.S. relations by arranging the Obama-Dalai meeting
