2018年CRI China Defence pavilion featured in South Africa

 

As Africa’s only aerospace¹ and defence expo that combines both a trade exhibition and an air show, the five-day 2018 Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) has started Wednesday in the city of Tshwane, South Africa.

Organised by China’s State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence(SASTIND), a group of six Chinese military equipments suppliers are displaying their advanced products at the China Defence pavilion. 

China Jing An Import & Export Corporation(CJAIE) is one of the six companies. Over the past years, it has developed business in over 100 countries including those in Middle East and South East Asia. It’s the first time for it to attend the AAD in South Africa.

 “Africa will also be a key market for our military equipments trading in the future. We brought this time our high precision sniping rifle, which is advanced in the world. We’ve also got our new-type rotary² barrels machine gun, including the 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm ones in cartridge³. They can provide good fire support for final defensive⁴ operation. In addition, our wheeled all-terrain vehicle is on display this time as well. It can transport people and materials in most difficult occasions.” said Wang Fei, General Manger of Defence Business Dept. of CJAIE. 

Chinese suppliers also displayed their products like ships, ship borne equipments and systems, unmanned aerial vehicles(UAV)  and weapon systems at the 10th Africa Aerospace and Defence.

 “Chinese weapons play an important role in the world. We have seen great improvements on the reliability⁵, appearance and utility of our weapons in recent years. Compared to those weapons from Europe, America and Russia, Chinese ones are getting second to none. Our products are popular among foreign customers. Being affordable⁶ and durable⁷ are also the advantages of our products.” added Wang Fei.

The show of Chine Defence has won attentions from governmental officials, militaries and experts from different countries.

 “I heard about the Chinese optical radar⁸ system. That system is more advanced.” said Lieutenant⁹ Phillemon Monatjia Choma from South African National Defence Force(SANDF).

This year, over 300 companies coming from more than 37 countries, including China, America, Russia, Germany and Italy, have showed up at the expo. The expo started early in 2000, and it’s been the 10th this year.
