B : What do you mean?

A : I was reading about how some people get tricked or drugged in their hotel rooms and have their organs removed! Then they are sold on the black market.
我读了有关一些人在宾馆里如何被骗或者被麻醉，然后他们的器官被盗走的故事！
B : Don't tell me you actually believe all that?  Don't be so gullible¹, they are just urban legends. They are just stories people make up to scare you.
别告诉我你全信了？别那么容易上当受骗，那些只是都市传奇。那些只是人编出来的故事来吓唬人的。
A : Well, I was also reading about how some popular songs have subliminal² or even satanic messages if you play them backwards³! Can you believe that?
嗯，我还读过如果你倒放一些受欢迎歌曲，就会出现有潜意识或者甚至邪恶的信息。你相信吗？
B : You really think an artist or song writer is going to go through the trouble of putting subliminal or satanic messages in a song? Don't be so naive⁴!
你真的相信一个艺术家或者作词家能够克服把有潜意识和邪恶信息写在歌曲里的障碍吗？别那么天真了！
A : Well maybe you are right, but how about the story of how KFC has rows of headless chickens which are super grown in order to get bigger chickens faster!
嗯，也许你是对的，但是肯德基里面有一排没有头的鸡，那些都是能够快速长大的巨型的鸡。
B : Sounds a bit too far fetched to be true, don't you think?
听起来很很不真实，你觉得呢？

　　1. drug 名词有药；毒品；麻醉药；滞销货的意思。动词有使服麻醉药；使服毒品；掺麻醉药于的意思。
Americans are awaking to the importance of drug control. 美国人开始认识到控制毒品的重要性。
Never discontinue a prescription⁵ drug on your own, however, without consulting your physician. 如果没有医生诊断，千万不要擅自停止使用处方的药。
2. make up 弥补；组成；化妆；整理
Life is just a series of trying to make up your mind. 生活就是由一系列你下定决心去做的事组成的。
But next year, tax rises will make up nearly half of it. 但明年，税收的增长将会弥补一半缩减的开支。
When people started asking questions, she had to make up more details. 而当人们开始提问时，她不得不编造更为详细的资料。
3. too...to... 太……以致不能……
Smile, so easy but too hard. to me. 微笑，如此简单、但也对我来说太难。
4. far-fetched 牵强的；不自然的；牵强附会的；不靠谱的
He still wasn't too sure that was so far fetched. 他还不敢说自己的这种想法是牵强的。
Emotional⁶ aim is described far-fetched without features. 情感目标表述牵强，不具有特性。

1 gullible   

adj.易受骗的；轻信的

参考例句：

• The swindlers had roped into a number of gullible persons.骗子们已使一些轻信的人上了当。
• The advertisement is aimed at gullible young women worried about their weight.这则广告专门针对担心自己肥胖而易受骗的年轻女士。

2 subliminal   

adj.下意识的，潜意识的；太弱或太快以至于难以觉察的

参考例句：

• Maybe they're getting it on a subliminal level.也许他们会在潜意识里这么以为。
• The soft sell approach gets to consumers in a subliminal way.软广告通过潜意识的作用来影响消费者。

3 backwards   

adv.往回地，向原处，倒，相反，前后倒置地

参考例句：

• He turned on the light and began to pace backwards and forwards.他打开电灯并开始走来走去。
• All the girls fell over backwards to get the party ready.姑娘们迫不及待地为聚会做准备。

4 naive   

adj.幼稚的，轻信的；天真的

参考例句：

• It's naive of you to believe he'll do what he says.相信他会言行一致，你未免太单纯了。
• Don't be naive.The matter is not so simple.你别傻乎乎的。事情没有那么简单。

5 prescription   

n.处方，开药；指示，规定

参考例句：

• The physician made a prescription against sea- sickness for him.医生给他开了个治晕船的药方。
• The drug is available on prescription only.这种药只能凭处方购买。

6 emotional   

adj.令人动情的；易动感情的；感情(上)的

参考例句：

• Emotional people don't stop to calculate.感情容易冲动的人做事往往不加考虑。
• This is an emotional scene in the play.这是剧中动人的一幕。
