One of Rob¹'s contacts² is bothering³ him, so he is wearing his glasses. 罗柏的一个隐形眼镜戴起来不太舒服，所以他改戴眼镜。

He doesn't want a simple problem to turn into a serious one. 他不想要让简单的小问题演变成严重的大问题。

Rob likes his contacts. They're convenient⁴. 罗柏喜欢戴他的隐形眼镜， 隐形眼镜很方便。

Since his eyes are dry now, he can use eye drops. 他的眼睛现在很干涩，所以他可以点眼药水。

Some foods are good for the eyes. 有些食物对眼睛很好，

Tuna is, but chocolate probably isn't. 鲔鱼就是，但巧克力大概不是。

Hey, Rob.  I didn't know you wore glasses. 嘿，罗柏， 我不知道你有戴眼镜。

I usually don't. I wear contacts. 我通常不戴， 我都戴隐形眼镜，

But one of my eyes is bothering me. 可是我现在有一只眼睛不太舒服。

Then you're smart to wear glasses. 那你改戴眼镜是聪明的选择，

You don't want a simple problem to turn into a serious one. 你可不想让一个简单的小问题变成严重的大问题。

You're right. 妳说得对。

Are you going to the eye doctor? 你要去看眼科吗？

I don't plan to. 我不打算去。

But if my eye isn't better in a few days, I'll go. 可是我眼睛的状况要是过几天还没有改善，我就会去。

I wear contacts, too. They're so convenient. 我也戴隐形眼镜， 隐形眼镜非常方便。

They are. I have the kind I can wear when I sleep. 没错， 我的隐形眼镜是那种可以戴着睡觉的。

I hope you don't do that very often. 希望你不会常常这么做。

Why not? 为什么？

You can get eye infections⁵ by doing that too often. 要是太常戴着隐形眼镜睡觉，可能会导致眼睛感染。

I know. I think that's my problem now. 是啊，我想这就是我现在的问题。

And I have dry eyes, too. 而且我的眼睛也很干涩。

Then use eye drops. Those help a lot. 那就点眼药水吧，  眼药水很有用。

How was your lunch? 你的午餐怎么样？

Great, thanks. 很好吃，谢谢妳的关心。

I like tuna, and it's good for my eyes, too. 我喜欢鲔鱼，而且鲔鱼对眼睛也很有益。

Really? I thought carrots were good for your eyes. 真的吗？我以为胡萝卜才对眼睛有益。

They are. But lots of other foods are also good for your eyes. 是这样没错， 可是还有其他许多食物也都对眼睛有益。

Is chocolate cake good for your eyes? 巧克力蛋糕也对眼睛有益吗？

Probably not. But it tastes good! 应该没有吧， 可是巧克力蛋糕很好吃！

I know! 没错！

So since I can see just fine, I'm going to have a piece! 所以既然我的眼睛很正常，我就来吃一块吧！

1 rob

4 convenient   

adj.便利的，方便的

参考例句：

• I have to find a convenient location for the shelves.我得找一合适的地方放这些书架。
• Come at any time that is convenient to you.你哪会儿方便就哪会儿来吧。

5 infections   

传染，感染( infection的名词复数 )； 传染病

参考例句：

• rising rates of MRSA infections in hospitals 医院中抗甲氧西林金黄色葡萄球菌感染病例不断增长的发生率
• Malnourished children are more likely to succumb to infections. 营养不良的儿童更有可能死于感染。
