Did I tell you about the worst train ride I ever had? I had reserved a sleeping berth¹ on an overnight² train from Rome going to Amsterdam. When I got on , there Rome going to Amsterdam. When I got on , there was a guy sitting in my seat. I said, “Excuse me, but this is my seat.” He said something in Italian, which I don’t understand, and then he looked away. Over 5,000 square kilometers have been destroyed by the fires, and 10,000 people have had to evacuate⁹ their homes. Both the United States and Canadian governments are supplying helicopters to help with emergency evacuations.

B: Our bedroom is already too crowded, though. And I don’t want you to keep me awake while you’re studying.

B: That makes more sense. Our apartment is too small for lots of furniture.

A: Hello?
B: Hi, Tim. It’s Mom.

B: I’m afraid I’ve got some bad news. It’s about Grandpa.
