Peter: It was kind of you, earlier to take the troublewith Grace.

Katherine: Such a taking little thing.

Peter: Hmm.

Katherine: What's her story?

Peter: Grace is one of our “wanted” children.Her bed and board are paid for probably by a parent, who hopes to reclaim¹ her whentheir circumstances change. It means she cannot be put up for adoption².

Katherine: I'm glad. Everyone needs to know they arewanted, don't you think? Just as everyone needs clothes and shoes that fit.
