(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
A study at the University of Arizona looked at the speech of several undergraduates talking on the phone, reading a story, and reading word lists. They found that all the speakers dropped syllables1 and even entire words. For example, the phrase “going to have to” was typically pronounced as “got da.” It went from four words to one. I guess we all do that. But maybe this research will lead to voice recognition technology that actually recognizes normal, everyday speech. The researchers also think the study could lead to better, more natural sounding speech generating devices for people who have trouble speaking.
