We’ve all of course seen Clint Eastwood save lives on the silver screen often in the middle of shoot-ups, but when it came to a real life-and-death situation, there was no gun needed, and ABC’s Lindsey Jennies to explain why. Hey, Lindsey.
Good morning, guys. That’s right, no gun needed, just Clint Eastwood’s bull-like strength.
You could ask yourself a question, “Do I feel lucky?” But do you, punk?
Thanks to Clint Eastwood, one man is feeling lucky this morning.
“He saved my life.”
Steve John, director of the AT&T Pebble1 Beach pro-am tournament, was attending the event’s Tee-off party Wednesday night when he began choking on a piece of cheese.
And I looked at Clint, it was this panic look in my face and Clint recognized that I was not in a good situation. And he grabbed my shoulder, flipped2 me around, and did the Heimlich maneuver3 on me for probably 3 different times,
The 83 year old movie star taking on the role of hero in real-life, “Go ahead, make my day.”
“He made showing made my day.”
The award winning actor and director told the Carmel Pine Cone4 newspaper, “I looked in his eyes and saw that look of panic people have when they see their life passing before their eyes…It looked bad.”
Eastwood used to play golf in the tournament as an amateur contestant5, and now serves as chair of the foundation that host the PGA event raising more than $100,000,000 for charity.
Eastwood is actually the second person to save John from choking to death. The 50-year old said someone had to give him the Heimlich maneuver 7 years ago.
“Ants got to know its limitations.”
As for dirty Harry6, he says it was his first time performing the Heimlich, good for John, he called a friendlier version of the Eastwood we used to seeing.
Get off my lawn.
So John said his phone had been blowing up with his friends calling to tease him about the incident, he says his friend of several years, Eastwood now finds it funny as well. At the time though, very serious, Eastwood said I gave him three good jolts7, and it popped out.
Something is going wrong if he’s had this problem twice now. Smaller bites, I think, he needs to go for smaller bites.
He says he was drinking and talking, and eating at the same time.
Lucky dirty Harry is there.
You know, these have been called, this is a type of multi-tasking, he went the bazuing for balania. So one would then hopefully they’ll all get back together.
He obviously had difficulty for this.
Yes. Thank you, Lindsey, appreciate it.
