During Pope Francis'parade around the White House Ellipse,five-year-old girl Sophie Cruz whose parents are Mexican immigrants hurdled¹ the security barrier.

Sophie was then beckoned² to the Popemobile by Pope Francis, who kissed her on the head, blessed her and accepted a letter from Sophie calling on his support for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

In her message to the Pope, she said she was scared her family would be taken away.

Sophie’s father, Raul, who is with her on the trip, said it was a miracle that his daughter met the Pope.
