-No wonder your English is so good.Where did you learn your English?

-Thank you for saying that.Well,mostly in China.Three years at high school and four years of intensive training at university,plus a shourt stay in the U.S. two years after I joined MOFCOM.

-Terrific.

-What do you usually do at night?

-The same as in America.Going to a beer house,drinking,chatting and dancing disco.Sometimes I dance ballroom¹¹ and sing karaoke with friends.

-My father used to work in China for some years.He often complained that he couldn't find a place for fun in the evening.Most people stayed at home and very few could be seen walking on the street at nine or ten o'clock.

-Now it's quite different.Night life is very much enriched.It's very common for young people to enjoy themselves even overnight.

-Men and women feel quite different about shopping.

-Yes.I don't like shopping,but my wife insists on my buying her some presents.

-Men just treat shopping as a simple sask which they must finish.Women not only regard shopping as a need in life but also as an enjoyable process.

-I agree.In the shops most men just make choices casually¹².Shopping is no fun for us at all.
