A : My wife and I didn't used¹ to spend this much money .

B : What's changed?

A : My wife has been pregnant² for 7 months.

B : I see. I guess diapers and baby food are expensive. Bringing up children is not easy .

A : My wife will be going back to work soon.

B : You should have more money then.

A : Hi! This is Jill. How come you didn't come in today ?

B : Oh, we had a birthday party for David last night. As a matter of fact I woke up with a terrible hangover.
