Everything about this statue means something.

这尊佛像的每一部分都有特定含义。

The Buddha¹ is sitting in a lotus position, which shows that he was like the beauty of a lotus flower emerging from the muddy waters of a pond.

佛陀的莲花座坐姿，表示他犹如莲花一般出淤泥而不染，寓意佛陀清净无垢。

His face is that beautiful round shape, which is supposed to be a reflection of the perfection of the moon.

佛陀脸庞美丽圆润，犹如满月。显露佛陀福慧具足，完美无暇。

And his head is domed², which tells us just how wise he is.

佛顶犹如天盖，代表佛陀智慧圆满。

His hands are interesting because the right hand is raised in a gesture of blessing³.

他的手势也很有意思。他右手举起做出赐福的手势（施无畏印）。

This is the Buddha's vow⁴ that he will release the entire world from its suffering.

这代表了佛陀要救拔众生苦难的誓言。

And on his chest he's got that so-called Swastika symbol.

其胸膛上有一个卍字符号（万字符）。

Of course the Swastika was unfortunately appropriated by the Nazis⁵, even though they got it the wrong way round.

当然，卍字符号很不幸被纳粹党滥用了，即使他们使用的是反方向的。

But what it actually means is the power of the universe,

其实卍字符号是指宇宙天地间的力量。

so this tells us that the Buddha's compassion⁶ and wisdom is available to all.

它告诉我们佛陀的悲悯与智慧是面向众生的。

The Buddha statue sits on a lotus throne on top of an altar.

佛像结跏趺坐於在圣坛顶部的莲座上。

It's surrounded by six smaller bronze statues.

四周围绕着六个较小的青铜雕像（六天母）。

They're shown offering gifts like fruit and incense⁷,

他们献上水果及香之类的供品。

gifts that symbolise different aspects of Buddhist⁸ philosophy, all virtues⁹ which are necessary to achieve enlightenment.

这些供品代表佛教哲学的各个部分，也就是获得证悟所必须的所有美德。

1 Buddha
