第一句：What kind of dish is this?

这是什么菜？

A: Have you tried Chinese pepper steak? smoked salmon¹?

您吃过中式胡椒牛排吗？熏三文鱼？

B: Well, I don't think I have. What kind of dish is this?

我想没吃过，这是什么菜？

A: Oh, that's sweet and sour ribs² pasta, Italian famous food.

哦，这是糖醋排骨通心粉，意大利有名的食物。

B: Yes, I had it once. I loved it.

对，我吃过一次，而且很喜欢。

第二句：What's that?

这是什么？

A: What's that?

这是什么？

B: Simply speaking, it's sirloin steak with sauce.

简单地说，这是上腰牛排加调味料。

点菜时最简单的说法就是：

I'll have this and this. 我要点这个和这个。

当然是限于指着菜单对服务员说的。犹豫不决时请说：Let me think. 让我想想看。服务员就会等你的。
