O.J. Simpson is facing charges related to an alleged¹ armed robbery at a Las Vegas hotel. He was arrested this afternoon. Authorities say the former football star was in a group of people that stole sports memorabilia.

At least 88 people died when their plane crashed on the Thai island of Phuket. The plane was making a second attempt at landing when it went down in heavy rains, skidded² off the runway and broke in two.

Wildfires have forced thousands of people from their homes in southern California. The governor has declared a state of emergency for San Bernardino County. The cause of the fire is under investigation³.

Talk about lucky. A drag racer in Australia survived this spectacular crash Saturday night. The dragster actually snapped in two and burst into flames. Amazingly, the driver walked away. He spent a night in a hospital but was discharged with just a cut-finger.
