Residents across the northeast corridor are preparing for a record snowstorm set to hit Monday night. Officials issued states of emergency from New York to Connecticut as regions anticipate up to at least 2 feet of snow.

U.S. coast guard stepped in as a plane ran out of fuel when flying from Kuai to Oahu. The single engine plane, with 4 passengers aboard, ditched into the sea 11 miles off shore. Officials say all 4 were treated with undisclosed injuries.

Indonesian rescue teams struggled to lift off the fuselage from the crashed Air-Asia jet plane in the Java Sea. A rope lining¹ the lifting balloons broke on Sunday leaving the wreckage² to sink back into the ocean floor. Most of the victims' bodies are believed to be still inside.

And the White House got a surprise landing after secret service agents discovered a 2-foot quad³ copter on the north lawn. White Officials say it posed no threat as President Obama and the first lady were overseas in India.
