The first Latin American pope¹ is giving a none to Hispanic Catholics as he embarks² on a 10-day trip to Cuba and the United States. Pope Francis arrived in Havana today ahead of Sunday mass in the city's Revolution Square.

Leslie Allen Merritt Jr. appeared in court today, telling a judge he hasn't been in possession of a gun in 2 months. He's been charged with counts including carrying out a drive-by shooting and intentional³ acts of terrorism.

Thousands of migrants and refugees⁴ in Croatia were finally able to board a train after waiting for several days along the Serbian border in the heat with limited food and supplies. Where the train would take them remained unclear.

Tens of thousands of Queen fans are celebrating the 30th edition of Rock in Rio in Rio de Janeiro. The rock band's historic⁵ performance back in 1985 marked the largest ever rock music festival of Brazil.
