1. Residents up and down the east coast are bracing¹ for Hermine, after the storm tore through Florida early Friday, killing² one person, damaging property and cutting power to hundreds of thousands.

2. Former Stanford university swimmer Brock Tuner was released from jail Friday, after just serving half of a six-month sentence for rape³, a sentence critics denounced as too lenient⁴.

3. Samsung has suspended sales of its Galaxy⁵ Note 7 smartphone after some of the phone's batteries exploded, as they were being charged. The company says affected⁶ customers will be able to get an exchange.

4. Tens of thousands worshipers will be filling St.Peter square in just few hours, to witness the canonization of mother Teresa as a saint. Pope Francis will lead the canonization mass for the Nobel peace prize winner who died in 1997.
