President Trump¹ declared at a rally in Orlando that he is running for reelection in 2020. His speech included claims that he's been under assault from what he calls the fake news media, and that Democrats² want to destroy the country and his words as we know it.

A protest was held outside during the President's speech in Orlando. Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders calls the speech lies, distortions and total absolute nonsense.

Acting³ Defense⁴ Secretary Patrick Shanahan is stepping down, citing a painful family situation. President Trump announced that Army Secretary Mark Esper will be the new acting Pentagon Chief.

And a Phoenix⁵ father says he and his family are lucky to be alive, after a videotaped encounter with police. The Phoenix Police Chief was booed as hundreds gathered to discuss the incident which began with a reported shoplifting.
