 1、Between you and me
你知我知，别告诉别人
告诉别人秘密之前常说

Between you and me, I think Jerry's about to resign¹.
你别跟别人说啊，我觉得Jerry要辞职了。

It's just between you and me, don't tell anybody.
这事你知我知，别告诉任何人。

2、Come between somebody
影响两个人的关系
引起两个人之间的不和、争端
让两人产生问题/矛盾

I let my stupid pride come between us.
我愚蠢的尊严让我们之间产生了问题。

The dog came between them.
这只狗让他们之间产生了问题。

Nothing can come between you and me.
没有任何事情可以让我们之间产生隔阂。

3、Between jobs/projects
没有工作
在上一个与下一个工作之间
就是处于待业在家

When you say “you're between jobs”, you mean you don't have a job.
当你说“you're between jobs”，意思就是你没有工作。

I'm between jobs right now.
我现在没在工作。

When Jill was between projects, she took a computer class at the community college.
Jill手头没有项目的时候，她在那个社区大学上了一个电脑课程。

4、Read between the lines
听出别人的言外之意
揣摩别人说的话背后的意思

You got to read between the lines when you listen to a women.
当你听一个女生说话的时候，你需要想一下她的言外意义。

After listening to what she said, if you read between the lines, you can begin to see what she really means².
在听她说完之后，如果你仔细揣摩，你就会看出她真正想说的是什么。
