每天三分钟学英语 第537期:外国人说way too much 可不是路太远的意思哦~

当你拦到一辆出租车时，首先说明”要去哪“，以及”单程还是往返“的行程：

乘客A: Hi, Can you take us to Old Town, there and back?

嗨，你能载我们去Old Town吗？往返。

司机B: Yeah, Old Town, sure. I can do it for $50.

嗯，Old Town, 可以的。50美元就行。

技巧1：询问路程

对话中乘客A询问时，用到的这个句式：

Can you take us to…

你能带我们去…

举两个例子：

① Can you take us to the Red Wood Hotel on Central Street?

你能带我们去中央大街上的红树林酒店吗？

② Can you take us to King Crab's Steakhouse? Here it is on the map.

你能带我们去帝王蟹牛排馆吗？这是它在地图上的位置。

说明了我们的目的地后，如果有”往返“的行程，还要询问一下司机。

There and back

往返，来回

举两个例子：

① The ATM's not that far from the motel¹. It's about 5minutes there and back.

那个自动取款机离汽车旅馆不太远。来回就5分钟。

② It'll be $20 for a ride there and back. It's not too expensive.

往返20美金。不算太贵。

司机确认了我们的目的地后，表示价格为50美金。接下来就是我们的表演时间啦~

乘客A: $50. That's way too much. It's not even that far from here.

50美元？这太贵了。从这里过去都不远。

司机B: Yeah, but I'm going to have to wait for you. That'll cost me other fares.

是的，但我还得等你。别人的单我就不能接了。

技巧2：嫌贵，并找出理由

对话中乘客A所说的，就是教科书一般的讲价：

嫌贵：$50. That's way too much. 50美元？这太贵了。

理由：It's not even that far from here. 从这里过去都不远。

如何通过语言表达”嫌贵“呢？

Way too much

太多了，太贵了

不管对方开价多少，第一反应一定要嫌贵！

再配上你戏精一般惊恐的小眼神儿，能讲多少价全看演技了。

举两个例子：

① The tickets cost way too much. I can't afford to go on the trip.

这些票太贵了。我负担不起这次旅行。

② That's way too much for renting a car. Let's find a cheaper place.

这对租车来说太贵了。我们找个便宜点的地方吧。

对于我们凶悍的讲价，司机也有点小委屈，他说：因为是往返，所以中间等我们的时候，That'll cost me other fares. 别人的单就不能接了。

像句中cost这种简单的词，我们要学会如何使用。
