 Still no end in sight to the stalemate of the federal budget and debt ceiling, senator republicans will somehow from a few democrats¹ prevented a democratic proposal to raise the debt ceiling from being put to a yes-or-no vote. Senator majority leader H says he is astonished by the move.

 

“What a sad dayfor America. They are voting to not allow us to even debate whether the debtceiling should be raised. Are they afraid of that? And they just wanna go thisway. This just is not going to go away.”

 

This afternoon,senator democrats headed to the White House to meet with president Obama, Reed and senator republican leaders are also holding talks to break the lock. Lord Reed says the GOP continues to attach unacceptable conditions to propose legislation. The senate is due to hold a rare Sunday session tomorrow. 

 

In the meantime,in the waters of Alaska, the lord James is holding the commercial crabbing³ season. And here is Martin reports from Seattle. 

 

The crabbing seasons starts on Tuesday, but the boats can not draw any crab² parts until they get permits. And the federal employees who were issuing those permits have been furloughed. Crab captain in reality TV star K told the senator C Friday that Americans may lose some of the important Japanese market to Russian crabbers. 

 

"Russian watchers have already learned the uncertainty⁴ in the Japanese trade press over Alaska supply. The Russian king fishery is unsustainable, unsustainably managed, and subject to a significant amount of power efficiency."

 

The cambers are asking the government to dip into money from fishery fees to bring some employees back on enough to issue the permits.

Secretary of state John Kerry said he is close to an agreement to Afghanistan president Hamid Karzai on leaving US forces in Afghanistan after their mission ends next year. But NPR S tells us one curtail⁵ issue remains⁶ unresolved. 

 

"The one item that is not in the agreement is the issue of jurisdiction⁷ for US troops, whether they will be subject to Afghan law or US law for any crimes they may commit in Afghanistan. And that is something that secretary Kerry said, if that is not agreed upon, would still spoil the deal. President Karzai said he is putting that issue to the people of assembly. If they sign off on that and then the issue solved.NPR S."

 

Cyclone⁸ Phailin slammed into Indian east coast today. Hundreds of thousands are displaced. /shore o fthe Christine humanitarian⁹ group board vision says unlike 14 years ago when the cyclone killed ten thousand people, the Indian government was ready.

Israeli PrimeMinister Benjamin Netanyahu today called Britain prime minister and theFrench president, seeking support for increasing pressure on Iran. The internationalcriminal court is signaling a vote of confidence in Libya’s government. It isbacking off an order for Gaddafi of Libya leaders to be extradited to the Hagefor trial. T reports.

 

After months of debates and investigation¹², the ICC has decided¹³ Libya’s jurisdiction system is quick to give a fair trial to A, the post president Gaddafi’s intelligence chief, accused of war crimes. The Libyan government has refused ICC order to transfer A to the Hage, and started its own proceedings¹⁴ last month. Now despite of the deteriorating¹⁵ security in Libya. the ICC judges has concluded the government institutions and authorities are sufficiently¹⁶ competent to manage the process. The ICC is still however seeking extradition¹⁷ of Gaddafi’s son/,but he has been hiding northwestern Libya since November 2011 after being captured by rebels who refused to send him to Tripoli.
