 Turkish forces in Northern Syria say they are close in on a key border town held by the self-declared Islamic State.  Susan J reports US-led the coalition¹ airstrikes supplied and aided the most recent advances. 

Local Turkish news show thousands of Syrians marching at the borders so far barred from crossing into Turkey.

Humanitarian² official said the influx³ has a result of increased clashes between local Syrian Turkish forces and Isis militants⁴ outside T.  The town's strategically important to ISIS since it is a key role for supply in foreign fighters, looking to bolster⁵ the group forces in Syria's North. Over the past week, the Pentagon says coalition airstrikes in the area have targeted ISIS positions around T, ... vehicles and weaponry.

 

 

Democrat⁶ presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is getting involved in the debate over trade, currently raging between president Obama and most democrats⁷ on Capital Hill.  As NPR's T reports she edged closer to House minority leader Nancy Pelosi who helped defeat the fast-track trade bill on Friday.

Speaking at a launch party in T Island.  Clinton encouraged president Obama to use the congressional blowup to try to get a better bill in negotiations⁸ over the trans pacific partnership⁹. 

I will be trying to figure out whether there is  a way to get a deal that does what should be for the American workers, that people starting with lead policy, can say you know what we make some real changes here this might work or not.

As for Clinton's own policy, she said she is waiting to see the final product of negotiations on TPP. She was criticized by the other democrats in the presidential rally on Saturday for not mentioning trade in her speech.
