(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
A very unique restaurant is getting a lot of talk these days in Brooklyn, New York. But it is not getting any talk inside the restaurant. The reason why—at this restaurant there is a rule against talking during dinner. The only thing to be heard at the restaurant is the sound of knives and forks hitting plates.
A few times a week, restaurant ‘Eat,’ as it is called, serves “silent dinner.” Diners are asked not to speak during their dinner. Why did they start such a service? Eat’s managing chef1, Nicholas Nauman says the quiet time is essential2 to savor3 the meal; diners can focus4 on the various tastes and textures5.
A four-course meal lasts about 90 minutes and will cost you $40 (USD). Nauman says they have been very popular and he will continue to offer the service as long as there is demand.
Which do prefer? Do you want to enjoy talking during your meal or to savor every bite in silence?
