The idea is very simple. When you are at a coffee shop, you order an extra coffee and ask to let it be suspended. This extra drink is given to someone who cannot afford it later.

Suspending coffees started in Naples, Italy a decade ago . The current interest in it can be traced back to a particular photo posted on Facebook this spring. It shows a man in unfortunate circumstances enjoying a warm beverage¹ paid for by someone else. This one photo moved a lot of people and started a worldwide movement.
