(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
The family of Yuichiro Miura was gathered around the telephone waiting for news from the highest place on earth. Then finally the phone rang and the news they had been hoping to hear came. “We’ve done it!” they heard over the crackling phone line.
At the age of 80, Mr. Miura had reached the summit of Mt. Everest, the highest mountain on earth. In doing so, Mr. Miura entered the record books. He became the oldest person ever to make the dangerous journey. This expedition was his third time to climb the mountain. What he accomplished1 is even more remarkable2 , as Mr. Miura has undergone heart surgery on four occasions. He was accompanied by a party of Japanese climbers , including his son and six Nepali Sherpas .
We can draw inspiration from his words before climbing Everest, “If you never give up, you will realize your dreams.”
