(单词翻译:双击或拖选)
One of the best celestial1 events of the year is set to peak this weekend. It will be the largest super moon of the year.
The super moon is actually the result of two phenomena2 occurring at the same time. The moon’s orbit around the earth is not perfectly3 circular . It has a somewhat oval shape . So it has closer points and farther points. The closest point is called the perigee4 and the farthest, the apogee5. If a full moon occurs during the perigee , we have a super moon. The result is a moon that appears 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than a full moon at apogee. .
The best time to see this super moon in Japan will be around 8:30 p.m. That is when the moon will come within 360,000 km of Earth .
