Topic 1-Teacher Exit Mechanism¹ to be Implemented² in Primary and Secondary Schools

 

Being a teacher used to be like holding an iron rice bowl, meaning it’s a job for life, regardless of performance. But this may no longer be the case, as starting from this year, China is going to implement³ an exit mechanism for teachers in primary and secondary schools. Good teachers will get renewed registration⁴ to keep their positions, while incompetent⁵ teachers will be edged out of the profession.
