　　at the word of command, the boat alternately sterning out of the way of the whale's horrible wallow, 小艇凭着命令，一会儿往后退，退出大鲸那个腾腾滚滚的可怕的圈子，

　　and then ranging up for another fling. 再一会儿又向前靠拢，再施投枪。

　　The red tide now poured from all sides of the monster like brooks⁷ down a hill. 现在，这只巨兽的四周都涌出一片红色的潮水，好象水打山岗上流下来而汇成一条小溪流。

　　His tormented⁸ body rolled not in brine but in blood, which bubbled and seethed⁹ for furlongs behind in their wake. 它那苦痛的身体不是在水里，而是在血里滚动，鲜血在它后边涌腾达几英里长。

　　The slanting¹⁰ sun playing upon this crimson¹¹ pond in the sea, sent back its reflection into every face, 斜阳在海里这个殷红的池沼上嬉戏，回光反照在大家的脸上，
