  The Chinese government says a trade war is never an appropriate solution to reducing trade friction¹, and that it hopes China and the US can continue to resolve their differences through dialogue.Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi has made the remarks on the sidelines of the ongoing² political "two sessions" in Beijing.He added that China itself has a long way to go to realize modernization³, and it has no need or intention to displace the United States.Wang Yi also says the Belt and Road Initiative is a global public good that follows international rules.Wang added that the initiative is an international cooperation platform that follows market principles.
