 September 9th, 1971Inmates seize control of the Attica Correctional Facility in upstate New York. After a four-day siege, police and guard storm the maximum security prison near Buffalo². The ordeal³ leads 32 inmates¹ and 11 prison employees dead with hundreds more wounded.

1976Mao Zedong, founding leader of Communist China, dies in Beijing at age 82 after years of tumultuous and autocratic rule .
