Israel has now released 5 prisioners as part of an exchange deal with a Lebanese militant¹ group Hezbollah .The move came just hours after Hezbollah sent back to Israel the remains² of 2 Isreali soldiers seized in a cross-border raid in 2006 which triggered an Israeli invasion of Lebanon.The prisioner exchange is being celebrated³ in Lebanon.Crispin Thorold is in Beirut.

The rapturous welcome--- the 5 Lebonese former detainees freed by Israel have crossed the border.A red carpet and martial⁴ music welcome the militants⁵ into Lebanon.In the coming hours,the men will be flying to Beirut where they will be met by the Lebanese president,prime minister and the speaker of the parliament,the 3 most important figures in the country's government.Later a celebration will be held in the southern suburbs of Beirut,a stronghold of Hezbollah where the movement's leader Hassan Nasrallah will make a speech.
