　　Do you know what a spectrum is? 你知道光谱是什么吗？

　　It is a series of colored lights. 它是复色光。

　　How can we see a spectrum? 我们怎么能看到光谱？

　　When you see sunlight through a prism, you may see a rainbow. 当你通过三棱镜看太阳光的时候，你会看到彩虹。

　　This is the spectrum of light. 那就是光谱。

　　Can you seperate a color from one spectrum? No, it is impossible! 你能从光谱中分离出颜色吗？那是不可能的！

　　People think there are only red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo² and violet colors in a rainbow. 人们认为彩虹只有红、橙、黄、绿、青、蓝、紫色。

　　Is it true? No, it isn't. 是这样的吗？不是的。

　　As a matter of fact, there are thousands of colors between each color. 事实上，每种颜色之间都有几千种颜色。

　　Therefore, a spectrum is a set of thousands of colors. 因此，光谱是几千种颜色的集合。
