　　The people means¹ a large number of men, women and children in the same country. 民众是指同一个国家的男女老少。

　　Therefore the country protects the people. 因此国家保护着它的民众。

　　It provides plenty of public services for the people as well. 国家也为民众提供许多公共服务。

　　Different people have different customs² and histories. 不同的民族有着不同的风俗和历史。

　　They also have different languages, cultures, religions and everything. 它们的语言、文化、宗教等各方面也有所不同。
