英闻天下——334 CNOOC Closes Acquisition of Canada's Nexen

 　　Chinese oil giant CNOOC have officially wrapped up the 15 billion US dollar takeover of Canadian oil and gas firm Nexen.

 

　　This comes more than 7-months after the takeover was first announced.

 

　　Nexen shareholders¹ will receive 27.5 dollars per share in cash.

 

　　The deal is the largest-ever overseas acquisition² by a Chinese company.

 

　　At the same time, Sinopec has also announced it will buy 50 percent of US' firm Chesapeake's oil and natural gas properties.
