John: Yes, let's listen to some examples.

Examples

A: How was your meal?

B: Oh, it was lovely. The combination² of the wine and the food was spot-on!

A: Isn't that what you've been looking for?

John: So 'spot-on' can mean exactly what we want or need in this case.
