South Sudanese government forces say they've captured the important rebel base of Nasirand fighting for control of am oil town of Bentiu in a big operation launched on Sunday. The offense³ comes two days after the South Sudan's President Salva Kiir told the American Secretary of State that he was prepared to hold direct peace talks with the rebel leader RiekMachar.
