The US has charged five Chinese officials with launching cyber attacks on American industrial and military targets in order to steal secrets and intellectual property. Plus the British drugs firm AstraZeneca brushes off a 'final' takeover offer from the US pharmaceutical² giant, Pfizer. Also the convicted French rogue³ trader, Jerome Kerviel, has been drawing attention in a public campaign to protest his innocence⁴ - even trying to enlist⁵ the help of the Pope. And our regular commentator⁶ Lucy Kellaway questions how much we 'really' work as the hours of the working day tick by.
