We hear what impact Spain's king, who has stepped down, had on his country's economy. The Obama administration has unveiled plans to curb² carbon pollution from American power plants by 30 per cent from 2005 levels, but can it have any impact on the challenge of carbon emissions³ globally? There are signs the European Central Bank may soon take a radical⁴ step to stimulate⁵ the continenta??s economy, by charging banks to deposit funds at the ECB. But will it work? And our regular commentator⁶ Lucy Kellaway asks whether the time has come for older workers to think about a change of career.
