Japan's central bank announces a significant expansion of its monetary¹ stimulus² programme, vowing³ to pump even more money into the country's faltering⁴ economy. We ask whether it will be enough to win the fight against deflation, which Tokyo policy-makers have been waging for almost two decades. A report by the Independent Commission for Aid Impact claims that the UK government is not doing enough to tackle "petty corruption⁵" in countries to which it gives aid.
