"Business Matters: 2.5m Children Homeless in US 18 Nov 14
Tue, 18 Nov 14
New figures show 1 in every 30 children is homeless in the United States. Dr Carmela DeCandia from the National Center on Family Homelessness describes the scale of the problem and explains why the number is often under-reported. We also speak to the BBC's Rob Cameron in Prague where the president of the Czech Republic has been pelted1 with eggs by protesters at a ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the Velvet2 Revolution. As Airbus files a patent claim for a revolutionary airplane design, we hear from Tom Irvine, formerly3 at NASA and now at the American Institute of Aeronautics4 and Astronautics about why there are so many thousands of speculative5 applications. The BBC's Rahul Tandon joins us from Calcutta to talk about Narendra Modi's 'rock star' welcome during his tour of Australia. We'll also be joined throughout the programme by two guests on opposite sides of the Pacific - David Kuo in Singapore and Cecily McMillan in New York City.
